How to Make Tree in Infinite Craft
Combine Plant + Plant to make Tree. First make Plant with Water + Earth. That gives a complete two-combination route. Plant + Earth is an alternative finish with the same total length.

Choose one finish, not both
The two routes share their first combination and differ only at the second. Each needs two combinations from the starting elements. They are alternatives, not consecutive instructions: you do not have to make Tree with Plant first and then repeat the task with Earth.

For the Plant + Earth finish, Earth is already one of the starting elements. There is no additional Earth-building step between Plant and Tree. Counting the first recipe plus both alternative finishes would give three combinations, but the third would be an unnecessary second way of reaching the same target.
Do I need Fire, Wind or Dandelion?
Neither complete route above uses Fire or Wind. Dandelion is a separate branch from Plant + Wind; it is not an ingredient in either Tree finish. Once Plant is available, stay with Plant + Plant or Plant + Earth instead of adding that branch.
What about God + Plant?
God + Plant is another Tree ending. It is an option when God is already available, but it is not a two-combination route from the basic elements: the preparation of God has not disappeared. The two full routes above avoid that dependency entirely.
Keep those cases separate. “One combination from ingredients I already have” describes an ending. “Two combinations from the starting elements” describes the complete Plant route. A named shortcut is not automatically less work from a fresh inventory.
Where should I stop?
Stop when the result is Tree. Tree + Earth leads onward to Forest, and Tree + Fire leads to Ash. Those are useful branches for other targets, but neither belongs between Plant and Tree. The Tree recipe is already complete before either extra input is added.
